The moment you offer the Shortcut service to your readers/audience you should communicate it. It will take a couple of issues to teach your readers (5 to 10 to get to your best results). On this page you will find tips and downloads to get you started. If you need help, or if you would like us to take a look at what you made before printing, please get into touch with your contact person.
First time introduction communication
The introduction of Shortcut on your magazine is worth some special attention. Explain your readers what they can do from now on.
As of today our publication is what you call interactive. What does that mean? Well, behind every single printed page there is a mobile page you can access with your smartphone. If you are familiar with QR codes, you can compare it a little with that but the big difference is, is that we don’t need QR codes. With the free app kooaba Shortcut you can just take a picture of the page and thanks to it’s image recognition technology, the right mobile page opens up.
Being interactive means that you, our readers, have a great set of options. For example, it makes it really easy to share the high quality full page (in PDF) via e-mail or Facebook. You can also store the any page in Evernote to build you own archieve for future reference. So there is no more need to cut out articles. Also, every time there is a link written on the page, you can directly access them via Shortcut. Another default option is to discuss the content directly with other readers. Or maybe add some tips about a subject.
When you see the shutter icon, we added some extra material such as video or links with more information about the subject.
We hope you like it. Go ahead, try it out, it’s for free, and don’t forget to tell us what you think about it.
Often publisher choose to remind their readers about Shortcut at the beginning of every issue. Some magazines even position the shutter icon on every page. Find what works best for you.
Dear reader. We would like to remind you that our magazine offers a digital world behind the paper. To access this world you should install the free app kooaba Shortcut on your smartphone. It works on every page. For example, when you see a link of a website, there is no need to type it into your phone, you can jump directly to the page. Also, you can share and store articles, and discuss the content of our magazine directly with other readers. And if you see the shutter-icon, you know there are even more options.
Specific content communication
When you add specific content (video’s, product sales, downloads etc.) to an article or page you should let your readers know about it on that page. To make it viuably clear as fast as possible add the Shortcut Icon to it.
